It’s been awhile and I told you I started this blog to help get you off the sofa, like I have, I told you I had stopped eating wheat and that I would keep you up to date, I am sorry I will do better.
Well in August last year I started practicing yoga, since then I have been practicing 3 to 4 times a week, it’s now been 9 months, and I am starting to get the gist of what it has done for me. First I feel better my body feels like it can move again when reaching to the floor to pick something up it’s easy I don’t have to think about it. When tying my shoes I just bend my knee and tie them. I am doing hand stands and head stands or in yoga terms inverting. We are doing back bends and all the other poses and it feels good. I have gone from a 42” waist to a 38” waist and they are starting to fit loose and the wheat belly is going away, the XXL are too big. OH YEA! We are going into our 4th month of Teacher Training at Dragonfly Yoga, it’s a lot of studying but as we get deeper into the studies the more I want to understand. I cannot yet define Yoga it’s more than movement, it’s more than breathing, it’s more than quieting the mind, it’s more than. As I get closer to the”What” I will share my thoughts.
As for the Wheat Belly life style i.e. No Wheat, we are doing it. It’s working my Dr. on the last visit said I “if I was only looking at your blood work I would say you are not a diabetic”, that day he stopped my Janumet and changed me back to Metformin we dropped my Niacin and Fenofibrate, lowered my Aspirin to the teeny tiny ones 88mg I think and I am still getting a shot of insulin a day but we have dropped that from 44units to 36 units. And my weights is below 250lbs for the first time in about 10 years. OH YEA.
We are swimming a minimum of twice a week and will pump it up to 4 times a week as soon as it warms up a bit more. We swim for an hour doing a minimum of 2,000 meters per swim.
Have a great Memorial Day and Tell your Mom you Love HER.
